Picture Perfect: Rebel Penguin Federation Rises, Underground Mafia Army Falls

KLONDIKE, CPA Central Headquarters, Zing’s Office – Welcome to the fourth edition of ‘Picture Perfect’, where I look back at some of the biggest and most important pictures in the history of Club Penguin Armies. With the RPF falling down in the ranks this week, I thought it fitting to take a look at how the army came about in the first place.

Picture Perfect || Edition 1 || Edition 2 || Edition 3 || Edition 4 ||

People often say that a picture is worth a thousand words and this statement couldn’t be any more true. Each week, right here on CPA Central, I will take a look at a picture from the community and see how I do in getting a one thousand word post from it. This picture can be a screenshot of a chat, or a treaty, or a still image from a Club Penguin Army battle – it can be many things and each week we will look and provide analyse for a different picture.

With CPA Central’s continued interest in communicating with the readers and getting their feedback, I will be open to suggestions on what photographs I should cover. I will make an attempt to use as many of them as I can if they are good enough and I can indeed find the photograph that you are referring to. You can comment below on any of these posts an idea and they will be received in my WordPress mentions box.

I hope that you enjoy reading this column and it will be published every Monday! I will always inform the community if the article will be published on a different day for a reason but please try to check back here on a Monday to see a brand new edition of Picture Perfect.

The fourth photograph that we will look at in this ‘Picture Perfect’ column is by far the oldest photograph that we’ve looked at coming from 2007 making it close to ten years old and incredibly difficult to track down. The picture, is an edited screenshot that shows a Club Penguin battle in a TV news show type fashion border. The photograph features armies such as the Nacho’s, RPF and the Army of Club Penguin just to name a few. The above screenshot was edited by Commando who proudly announced that the newly started Rebel Penguin Federation has claimed a victory over the Underground Mafia Army – a historical story that we’re going to be looking at today.

Underground Mafia Army is known as one of the most historical armies to ever grace the Club Penguin Army Community. The Rebel Penguin Federation also shares that same tag line being considered by some as the greatest army of all time and with good reason as we saw them take the spot of number one army of 2016 quite recently on our End of the Year Top Ten. If you don’t know what the two armies history is, then you need only look at the creation of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

The RPF was truly something unique. It shouldn’t have worked if we look at what history dictates and suggests to us in the modern day but the rebellion was a testimate to Commando’s skill as a general. It was also one of the best indications that the UMA wouldn’t always be strong. It’s still strange to think that one small rebellion turned out to be such a major part of our community’s history.

– SM Army Legend and CPA Central Executive Producer Zing King To comments on the infamous rebellion.

May 2007 saw the Army of Club Penguin and the Underground Mafias Army embark in what seemed to be an endless, bitter war known to the community as World War III. With victory not looking certain for the Underground Mafia Army, they resorted to other more questionable tactics such as promoting third party cheating and hacking of Club Penguin. This was seen as wrong by several troops in the UMA and also a UMA general – Commando717.

Commando’s belief that this was wrong led to him wanting to remove himself from the Underground Mafia Army in order to fight against what he considered wrong. He wasn’t the only UMA troop to come to hold this opinion as several more UMA troops decided to follow Commando out of the army effectively forming the Rebel Penguin Federation.

The Rebel Penguin Federation managed to recruit and build up a force large enough to invade Mammoth alongside the Army of Club Penguin effectively defeating the Underground Mafia Army in a three-month long war. Still to this day, the RPF rebellion is regarded as the largest and most successful rebellion to ever occur in this community – something unlikely to change any time soon.

I think RPF and UMA are both in the Top Five for sure. Normally, I’d put the Big 3 ahead but I feel like the Ice Warriors have dropped off in influence especially with things being revealed about their past. I guess I’d put RPF, DW and UMA in the 3rd, 4th and 5th position in a random order.

– Rebel Penguin Federation leader, Silverburg assesses RPF and UMA’s standings in the Greatest Armies of All Time list.

Two years ago, CP Army Central hosted the ‘Top 30 Armies of All Time’ list which saw both the UMA and RPF ranked by several of the top ranking, experienced officials in CP Army World Media. The Underground Mafia Army ranked sixth in our list while the Rebel Penguin Federation ranked fifth showing how close these two armies truly have always been in their time. RPF and UMA have both engaged in battles and wars with each other since the rebellion took place which always leads to the question, what if the rebellion had never taken place?

Rebel Penguin Federation changed the face of the community in more ways than one. It was in fact their leader, Elmikey that is famous for bringing in the autotyper as the new top range way to recruit on Club Penguin.

Unfortunately, due to an inactive spell in the Rebel Penguin Federation currently and numerous attempts at trying to get Commando to comment and answer a few questions, we were unable to obtain an interview with the former CPA Map creator.

What do YOU think? Will the RPF manage to get ranked first place again in the community? What picture should I look at next?

  1. Good post.

  2. RPF wasn’t really a rebellion, Commando made it as a troll and when ACP started to get on board, he made it legitimate. This whole “UMA was hacking” story is bullshit, they may have used item adders, but no one would rebel over that, even 10 year olds.

  3. RPF cheated and lied their way to victory in that war only to fall in shambles not even a year later. UMA Victory

  4. fake news

  5. I don’t care about people saying RPF is not a legit army, because I know we are a legit army. I know that the army that I picked is the right choice. It was RPF’s destiny to be born. We may have hit a bit of inactivity, but we definitely will pull out from it. And like I said before, I care about legitimacy. Armies that try to bot raid are ******* idiots. There’s something called fair play here….

  6. I want to not exist anymore.
