Top Ten Armies: 04/07/13

EDIT 6:35 PM EST: Added Poll of the Week.

Wow, I haven’t made a Top Ten in a long time. Well, let’s get started, shall we?

Note: This Top Ten was one of the closest in many weeks. If you are a leader of one of the Top Ten Armies, I encourage you to really look at this closely before making a rage comment. Most of the armies in the Top Ten average around 25, while two pulled out above with about 35. We have factored in things such as tactics, war victories, and amount of events more than usual. All of you should be proud of what you have accomplished this week.

Close to the Top Ten:

11. Underground Mafias Army [+3]

12. Dark Warriors [-6]

13. Miners [+2]

14. Light Defenders [-3]

15. Rebel Penguin Federation [NEW!]

1. Nachos: The Nacho Army comes out on top once again this week, after a fantastic showing. The week began as the army mounted for war against SWAT. On April Fool’s Day, the Nachos faced off against SWAT on the server of White House. The army maxed 31 and averaged 25, and Spi101, the appointed “Judge” of the battle, declared Nachos the victor. Later in the week, the army had a decent UK Training Session in an attempt to bulk up that facet of their army. On Wednesday, the army faced off against SWAT once again, this time on their birth server of Blizzard. Once again, the Nachos pulled off good sizes, and were once again declared the winner. That same day, The Nachito Awards were released, a polling to see who some of the most liked/most important people in the army are. After this, SWAT surrendered the war to the Nachos, which resulted in a Nachos event on their newly gained server of Mammoth. The ACP tried to raid this event, but were unsuccessful.

2. Special Weapons and Tactics: SWAT rolls in at second this week, with some very nice sizes. The week began for this army with the declaration of war on the Nachos. On Monday, SWAT faced off against Nachos on the server of White House. The army claims the battle was a tie, which disputes the claims on the Nachos site. In any case, SWAT pulled off some spectacular sizes of 30-35 in what was their best event of the week. On Wednesday, the Nachos and SWAT faced off again on Blizzard, to which SWAT has no post on their site. However, according to the Nachos site, the army pulled off nice sizes of 20-25. SWAT also had a Practice Battle against IW on Saturday, where they had sizes of 20-25.

3. Ice Warriors: The Ice Warriors gain one spot in this week’s top ten, and, once again, not really getting involved in any wars or conflicts. The week started for IW with a UK Training Session, which involved the banning of a 5ic and an immediate drop in the UK force from sizes of 11 to 5. The next day, IW held a recruiting session with sizes of 20-25. The following day, they maxed 15 during a UK Training Session — and, that same day, another event brought them sizes of 20-25. On Friday, the Ice Warriors were scheduled to have a Practice Battle against the Doritos, but following its cancellation, the army logged on anyways, reaching sizes of 20-25. Yesterday, IW faced off against the Pirates in a Practice Battle, where they reached sizes of 25-30.

4. Hot Sauce Army: The HSA reaches their highest point in the Top Ten so far this week, with an impressive showing. The week began for HSA with a very impressive showing from their Asia/Australia division as the war with the Light Troops raged on. The same day, the Light Troops invasion of HSA’s capital took place. The HSA claims victory, with impressive sizes of 25. Next game a spree of administrative moves, as the army began elections for a new 3ic, along with a message to their troops about “why not to join an army led by Waterkid.” That same day, the army maxed 15 in an unscheduled against LT. On Thursday, HSA held an unscheduled Training Session, maxing around 20 troops. The next day, the HSA held a Training Session, with sizes of 15-20. To top off the week, yesterday HSA maxed 20 in the CPWI Finals against the Pirates, who were a no-show at the battle.

5. Pirates: The Pirates pull out at 5th in this extremely close Top Ten. The week began as Waterkid pulled an early April Fool’s prank on the army, saying they were merging into ACP. That same day, the Pirates held an Easter Sunday event, with sizes of 20-25. The next day, TacoDaily, leader of the Tacos, was appointed the Pirates US Leader. Also that day, the Pirates held a Recruiting Session with sizes of 25. The next day came the test of their US Leader as TacoDaily led a US Event, where the army reached a measly 10. The UK wasn’t abandoned that day, they also got an event, with impressive sizes of 25-30. Soon came some conflict between the newly appointed Taco and Freezie. Taco threatened to quit Pirates if Freezie was not fired, which led to Freezie’s retaliation, claiming that Taco had accomplished nothing, as the Pirates had no US Force. As this conflict continued, the Pirates held an event following the cancelled PB against IW. The week ended as Taco, the US Leader, was fired for recruiting Pirates soldiers into his new army, the recreated Fire Warriors. This also led to Freezie’s demotion to 2ic, due to the fact that the Pirates believed he was not able to focus on them due to his involvement in HSA.

6. Doritos: The Doritos had one of their best weeks in a long time, only slightly being edged out of 5th by the Pirates. The army has had a week full of great sizes and confusing leadership changes. As the week began, Wilson500 was appointed DCP 2ic. That same day came other changes including the retirement of 13yearoldnoob — who is now reinstated — and the beginning of DCP Leadership Elections. This was following a Coup d’Etat of Lord Pain. As the elections continued, it claim clear that Konivkt (a.k.a. Nick) and Pain would be the two front runners, which arose controversy as to whether or not Pain should be permitted to run. On Wednesday, DCP had a Training Session with sizes of around 15, and the next day, had a spectacular showing with sizes of 25. Yesterday saw the return of Mustapha to the Doritos, and, just as this post is being made, a group called the “Penguin Militia” has removed Lord Pain from office in the Doritos.

7. Army Republic: AR makes a large comeback following a startling drop out of the Top Ten last week. They began the week with the return of leader Buritodaily, but with failing event sizes, he was unsure of how long he’d stay. After a successful comeback event maxing 28, Burito decided to remain in AR. AR then had another recruiting, maxing 28 once again, as they began to hint at war with ACP and tensions between the two armies began to rise. They named their Soldier of the Month, then scheduled the ‘event of the week’: a PB with rival ACP. The results, however, were far from stellar, with AR maxing only 7 on chat. At the same time, information came out about alleged abuses by the AR leaders and the demotion of the army creator, 122344a. These events drove the retirement of both leaders of AR late last night, with the army now standing on the precipice of an uncertain future. AR comes in at 7th this week.

8. Water Vikings: The Water Vikings have had a spectacular, but very confusing week, and end up ranking up at 8th. The next day, WV averaged 15 during a Training Session. On Thursday, Bluesockwa1 was appointed Water Vikings leader — that same day, another successful Training Session brought WV sizes of 20-25. Yesterday, the army reached sizes of 20 on Frostbite — however, soon after, their domain was redirected by Qwerty, after he was refused WV Leader. While, at the moment, the domain is once again secured on the WV Site, more develops in this story are believed to come. As the week came to an end, the Water Vikings averaged 15 yesterday.

9T. Army of CP: ACP is hit with an astounding blow this week as they fall to a new record low, from last week’s high of 2nd. They began the week with a controversial April Fools joke that led to the institution of new strict bullying laws in the army. They maxed 20 at a UK Training to begin the event week. They also announced that they were holding a tournament for their colonies: the Colonial Clash. At another UK event, they maxed only 15. They announced a PB with AR, then maxed 23 at a UK event. They maxed 25 at the PB with AR, who was a no show. ACP ties with LT for 9th this week.

9T. Light Troops: LT takes a fairly large hit this week, less because of their own poor performance and more because of how many other armies did well this week. They started off with a bit of April Fools Day trolling on HSA chat, Ioio, in order to promote better performance in the army’s little reported campaign against HSA, demoted all troops to private. After another loss on Ice Cold, they prepared to strike back with some UK invasions. They came back with a  stunning victory on Mukluk, maxing around 25. LT continued their invasions spree, winning Tuxedo and Thermal next. They took Half Pipe in a covert invasion, and then issued a controversial Declaration of War on the small Aces of Spades. LT had another training session, maxing around 20, and then took 6 servers from HSA in a covert invasion. HSA has said they are simply ending the war and will no longer fight, but still insist they keep their servers. LT are now holding 3rd in command elections, and come in tied for 9th with ACP this week.

A Short Note Regarding Any CPPS/Club Warfare Servers

At this time, CPAC has made the decision not to recognize any events held on CPPS or Club Warfare servers. This is due to how easy it is to multilog on these servers, the speratic banning by moderators — and that simply covers cpps.me and my.cpps. When it comes to Club Warfare, CPA Central feels that users should not be charged money (or xats) to engage in Club Penguin Warfare. We also feel that giving control of the largest facet of CP Warfare itself (the servers on which the battles take place) to a small group of people who actively lead armies, and may exhibit bias, is a wrong step to take in the modernization of Club Penguin Armies. If this is “modernization”, then I don’t want to modernize.

  14. A very predictable Top 10, the first 5 at least. Say, great Top 10 and one question, how do you calculate all of this stuff?

    Like

    • Usually it’s factored in by size, tactics, chat size, and site activity — but since it was so close this week, other things like war victors and amount of events were factored in.

  15. Now I’m really stumped. Why would Nachos think that an army placed in ninth would give them a good challenge? That doesn’t seem to make sense at all to me.

  31. Can you stop trying to berate the AR leaders just because of what your buddy A has told you?…

    Like

    • LOL

While that description was written by Blue2, I would point to the fact that you simply don’t like to hear the facts of what you did. When reviewing AR’s performance this week, it is important to note that 122344a was demoted. And, it has assumed that the retirements were linked to that. That’s not bellitlement, it’s a recap of the week.

      Like

      • A wasn’t demoted? A was never a rank. Not to mention he was promoted before this post was published and re-added to the site. Not to mention you called it “abuses” when what we did was not abusement. You calling abusement isn’t stating it fairly in reality..

        Like

        • A was contributored on the AR site and modded on chat. As of last check, he is author on the site and owner on chat. Before all of this took place, A was Main Owner on chat and Administrator on the site. That’s called a demotion if you ask me. A’s official rank was “Advisor”, but he was also the creator of your army, and you stating that he has no official rank simply highlights the disrespect you have for him.

Even if this post was published after “all of this took place”, this post is still a recap of the events of the top ten armies of this week, and will be recapped in the post. The term “abuses” is used in a broad aspect, however, if you ask many major army leaders, I would call contributoring and modding your creator a bit of an abuse of power. This is simply an opinion, as is yours, and in the same way that you express opinions in posts you make, I, too, am allowed to express certain opinions, even moreso if those opinions are of widespread belief among community members.

          Like

          • 122344a asked to be mod twice to which we agreed. Not only was he ownered back when he asked, the the whole fight never resulted in him getting fired.

            Like

            • We do not claim that A was fired, we claim that he was demoted — which, according to all AR sources we have contacted, is what took place; a temporary demotion due to the argument that was taking place.

I’d like to point something out: The ACP didn’t raid the Nachos. We DID consider it, and even got to the point where we decided to tell people to get ready to log on while we discussed it, but in the end decided against it.
