Top Ten Armies: 03/10/13

Blue2: In addition, we hope to have the election votings out very soon.

With another very interesting week, almost all armies in the Top 5 maxed above 30 troops at one or more events, and many others performed extremely well in a new edition of the CPAC Top Ten.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Daylight Savings Time began in the USA at 12 AM this morning. This means that times were moved AHEAD 1 hour (i.e. what used to be 4 EST is now 5 EST). This means that time calculations should be adjusted accordingly (i.e. if you were EST -5 before you are now EST -4). Thank you.

1. Nachos [+0]: Nachos retain their spot at first with yet another incredible week. They began the week with a recruiting session and a PB with IW, maxing 30. They went on to defeat the Pirates in a highly contested battle in CPAC’s March Madness tournament, maxing 40+, and are moving on to the Semi-Finals. They are finishing the week preparing for a scheduled raid of #2 ranked ACP tomorrow.

2. Army of CP [+0]: The ACP also remain stable at 2nd after a busy week. They started off the week strong with a 30+ unscheduled event. They continued with several more unscheduled events, all around 20 troops, with one at nearly 30. They finished off with a strong showing at the CPAC March Madness tournament against the no-show Tacos, maxing 34. ACP moves on to the Semi-Finals next weekend.

3. Pirates [+2]: The Pirates move up to the Top 3 this week after a fantastic showing against the Nachos. They started off with the return of Pirates creator Bid Now after a long-running search was completed. They then hit the ground running with a 25+ training session and another 30+ session a few days later. Pirates had several more training sessions before a spectacular showing against the Nachos in the March Madness tournament. Though CPPA was defeated, they lost a close fight and performed incredibly. Pirates go into next week with a Declaration of War on the USRPF, where fighting has yet to begin.

4. Special Weapons and Tactics [+0]: SWAT also had a good week this week, starting off with the successful claiming of Slippers. They went on to take Sled, Bonza, and Sparkle, as well as cleanse Outback, with sizes peaking around 20. They then saw the retirement of former leader Spi101, and moved on to tie with HSA in a PB. They then finished off with two fantastic unscheduled events, maxing around 30 at each.

SWAT

5. Ice Warriors [+3]: IW started off fairly slow this week, but quickly picked up with events around mid-week. They had two training sessions, one for UK and one for US troops, maxing around 20 at each. They continued with an incredible Practice Battle v. AR, maxing  35+, and faced SWAT today in the March Madness tournament.

IWVSAR13

6. Light Troops [+0]: LT had a strong week in some respects, but a very busy one as well, retaining their place at 6th. They began the week embroiled in a war with DW, reclaiming Crunch and Beanie one day. They went on to lose Mukluk and Flurry, but still took Ice Box and Ice Cold from DW, all with sizes around 15. They also claimed DW’s Capital Frosty, then turned an invasion into a recruiting, maxing 35. After claiming victory from the now-closed DW, they had a few more patrols around 15. The week ended with the retirement of longtime leader and Army Legend Ioioluk from LT, and armies overall.

7. Army Republic [-1]: AR started very slow, and take only a slight fall, though still the only one in the Top Ten this week. They had only one event in the first half of the week, a training session, maxing 23. They had another event, maxing 20, before a hard-fought loss to IW in a PB, maxing 25. They have announced a long-term plan to rise, and have many events scheduled for next week.

8. Doritos of CP [+2]: DCP began the week with a one-time invasion of UMA to get revenge on Aaronstone. They had several more events, all in the 15-20 range, before longtime leader Alfrondo decided to return to lead the army. DCP defeated UMA on Klondike with a max of 22.

9. Hot Sauce Army [+0]: HSA retains their spot at 9th after a solid week. They started with a U-Lead session, maxing 20, before several more training sessions with maxes of 20 and a tied PB with SWAT. They easily defeated the Pretzels in another PB to finish off the week.

10. Metal Warriors [+4]: MW are back in the Top Ten, starting off the week by claiming first place in the SMAC Spring Down Tournament, maxing around 15. They are participating in the next SMAC Tourney, and are scheduled to face DCP today in the March Madness.
