Army of the Week: Global Defenders

In this edition of Army of the Week, we focus on a rising army in the top ten.  GD has been growing stronger with better sizes and tactics at events.  This army recently declared war, which could help them or hurt them.  Since the last top ten, they’ve grown quite a bit.  Can GD win their war and rise?  Or will they fall back to square one?

History:

GD was created on February 2011 by Pungy1234, a small and medium army legend.  They were originally named the Penguin Militia Army.  On February 13, they were changed to the Global Defenders.  After only a month, GD made it into medium top tens on several news sites.  In early April 2011 they became the most powerful medium army. After that, GD rose into the CPAC top ten.  They were a major army for a little bit of time before they fell, but still remained a medium army.  In November 2011, Redd Kool was promoted to leader alongside Pungy1234 after many months of being 2ic.  Since then, GD reached major status a few times, but for the most part were a medium army.  In the past few months GD fell and were at the bottom of medium armies.  They’ve recently risen after getting up from a fall, and are currently ranked 13th, right outside the top ten.

Current Leadership:

GD is currently being led by Pungy1234 in the rank of President, with Redd Kool below him at Vice President.  The two have done well leading GD, and have been making the army rise.  Judging by past events, they should have no problem leading the army through war.

Recent Events:

GD recently declared war on the Red Defenders.  One reason was so they wouldn’t be lazy, but another reason was because GD claimed they were the first to use the suffix “Defenders” and plan on being the only army with it.

The first battle of the war will take place tomorrow, and many more will follow it.

In terms of recent events, GD only had one, where they invaded the Spanish server Pizza.  They did a good job with sizes of 10+.  Below is a picture from the event:

Along with the war with RD, GD has more invasions of other language speaking servers.  These events should help GD boost sizes and rise.

Opinion:

I think that with the many events GD has coming up, they will rise from their activity and become more powerful.  As long as they stay active, they should be able to stay a medium and even large army, and they should have no trouble winning their with RD.  However, if their active levels drop, there’s the chance that the army will fall.

How do you think GD has been doing?  Can they win their war against the Red Defenders?  Can they become more powerful?  Or will they fall like they have in the past?  Comment with YOUR opinion!

  3. Only armies that are part of The Network are reported on for Army of the Week, and most of them died, so there are only about three left. If you have an army you want featured as Army of the Week, go to The Network page for more information.
